Jamia Suffah is pleased to announce the Provision of Taqwa Program, a comprehensive 2-year part-time Arabic and Islamic Studies course designed for both brothers and sisters. This program is meticulously crafted to provide students with a deep and practical understanding of key Islamic sciences, enabling them to enhance their knowledge, spirituality, and connection with the Quran and Sunnah.

Arabic 101 – Introduction to Arabic Syntax I | To develop proficiency in understanding and applying Arabic grammar, syntax, and vocabulary through the study of Duroos ul Lugah, enabling students to comprehend classical Arabic texts, engage with Islamic scholarship, and improve their overall Arabic language skills. |
Arabic 201: Arabic Morphology: Structure and Form | To provide students with a thorough understanding of Arabic morphology, focusing on the root system, verb conjugations, and word formation. This course aims to equip students with the tools needed to analyze and construct Arabic words, enhancing their ability to interpret classical Arabic literature and the Quran. |
History 101: The Life of the Prophet: Seerah Studies | To explore the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), focusing on key events, battles, and his interactions with the community. This course aims to deepen students’ understanding of Islamic history, the development of early Muslim society, and the moral and ethical lessons derived from the Prophet’s life. |
Hadith 101: Selected Readings in Prophetic Traditions | To study and reflect upon the 40 Hadith compiled by Imam An-Nawawi, focusing on their meanings, implications, and relevance in contemporary life. The course aims to instill in students a deeper appreciation of the prophetic traditions and to apply these teachings in their daily lives. |
Introduction to The Sacred Foundations Etiquettes of a Seeker | To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of Islamic worship (Ibadah) according to the Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) of the major schools of thought. This course aims to equip students with the knowledge necessary to correctly perform acts of worship such as Salah (prayer), Sawm (fasting), Zakat (charity), and Hajj (pilgrimage), while also understanding the underlying jurisprudential rulings and their applications in daily life. |
Tajweed 101: Introduction to Quranic Recitation | To introduce students to the fundamental rules of Tajweed, focusing on the correct pronunciation of the Arabic letters, articulation points (Makharij), and characteristics (Sifat) of the letters. This course aims to develop students’ ability to recite the Quran with proper pronunciation, fluency, and adherence to the rules of Tajweed, fostering a deeper connection with the Quranic text. |
Islamic Jurisprudence 101: Principles of Islamic Worship | To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of Islamic worship (Ibadah) according to the Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) of the major schools of thought. This course aims to strengthen students’ foundational beliefs, clarify theological concepts, and address common misconceptions about Islamic doctrine. |
Hadith 102: Selected Readings in Prophetic Traditions | To introduce students to the principles and methodologies of Hadith studies, focusing on the classification, authentication, and transmission of prophetic traditions. This course aims to equip students with the skills necessary to critically analyze Hadith literature, understand the significance of Hadith in Islamic law and theology, and apply Hadith in various aspects of life. |
